Services are provided by doctoral students from the PhD program in Clinical Psychology at IU-Indianapolis. They are supervised by a licensed clinical psychologist.

Services offered include:
- Individual therapy (CBT and other modalities)
- Group therapy (planned for the future)
- Health education
- Relaxation training
- Mindfulness training
- Psychological assessments (see details below)
Available assessments
The center offers a number of psychological evaluations for IU-Indianapolis students, including assessments for:
- Specific Learning Disorders (e.g. math, reading, writing)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Mood and Anxiety Disorders
Concerns addressed at the center
Patients experiencing various behavioral health and/or mental health issues can be referred to the center, including issues such as:
- Depression and grief
- Stress and anxiety
- Sleep disturbance
- Chronic pain
- Medication adherence
- Chronic illness adjustment
- Health behavior change (e.g., tobacco cessation, weight loss, physical activity)
- Life transitions
Clients who should not be referred to the center
The center is staffed by doctoral students in training to become psychologists. As such, there is a limit to types of cases that trainees can/should see.
The center should not be referred the following types of cases and will refer such cases to community providers:
- People with active homicidal or suicidal intent/plan
- People experiencing an active manic episode
- People managing bipolar disorder
- People with active psychosis
- People actively going through substance use detoxification
- People who are going through the campus disciplinary board process and/or are involved in legal situations or lawsuits
- Children and adolescents under the age of 18 years. We hope to add services for minors in the future.
Some individuals may have mental health needs that are better addressed by IU-Indianapolis Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) or other community providers. Please call our center to ask for more information.
